I didn’t know what to focus this episode of the podcast on. Ordinarily I have a pretty clear idea, or something arises in the week and I think ‘oh, yes, that!’. But not this week.
This week it took until Friday afternoon for me to realise I still hadn’t recorded it - and still wasn’t sure what to record it on. Then I had a chat with Angus (he of the intro / outro music) and he reminded me of something I often talk about with clients; softening into the not-knowing. And then, of course, it became clear.
So, today is all about doubt.
And about how, sometimes, decisions can feel hard to find. And about remembering that life isn’t binary - we all live in the grey. I’m not suggesting a dismal murky grey here, but rather the kind of grey that Farrow & Ball would call Dawn Sky Grey or Underwing of a Cooing Dove…
To bring this to life, I’m sharing two pieces of writing.
On a connected note, I was a guest recently on another podcast (I’ll share when the episode is aired) and talked about the importance of journaling in my own change journey. The interviewer asked me if I ever went back and looked at what I’d written, well I occasionally do. And one of the pieces I’m sharing here is from my journal - day 84 to be precise.
The other piece is from My darling girl - an antidote to times of doubt.
